Thank you for entering the Texas Chili Cook-Off
which will take place on

Monday, December 5th
Picture

There is no rule about who prepares your chili. It can be prepared by the student, their parent, their grandparent, etc. Your entry is a family endeavor.

You can prepare any type of chili that you wish: red, white, green... meat or vegetarian... with or without beans... mild, medium, hot... etc.

3½ - 4 quarts of chili will provide a 1 oz. taste for every student, so please try to make that amount, or more. Obviously, the more people that get to try your chili, the better chance you have of winning one of the awards. Awards? Yep!  (see below)

Ladles, spoons, and serving cups will be provided by Mr. Cushing. The only thing you need to provide is your chili, and the crock pot that it's in.

Please label the back of your crock pot with your family name.

Bring your chili to the FACS room between 7:00 and 7:30 am.
Pick up your crock pot after school between 2:30 and 3:15 pm.

There are three awards that will be given out after the cook-off:
The Sam Houston Award ... Best of Show
The Santa Anna Award ... Spiciest & Meanest Chili
The José Navarro Award ... Most Authentically Texan    What does that mean? See below.
